What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic focuses on the spine because it protects and houses the central nervous system which is comprised of the brain and the spinal cord. The central nervous system is the most important system in the entire body because it controls and regulates the function of every single cell and organ throughout the body. The brain receives constant communication from the body and responds to those communications through the path of the spinal cord and the nerves that exit the spine. If the joints of the spine lose their normal function due to injury, illness, or stress; the brain will begin to receive the wrong input from the body. The brain responds to this poor input in the form of muscle spasms, inflammation, and discomfort. The chiropractic adjustment restores the normal movement and function of the spinal joints so that the body can better communicate with the brain and thus allows the brain to heal the body efficiently and effectively.
